lohost for Mac
For macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. One app in your menu bar, and nothing to set up before it shows you what is running.
Not released yet.
There is nothing to download today. When the first version is out, this page will have a disk image for Apple silicon and one for Intel, each signed with the developer’s ID, notarized by Apple, and listed with its size and SHA-256, and a Homebrew cask will install the same files.
Releases, issues and the Homebrew tap will live under lohost-dev on GitHub. Watch it there to hear about the first build.
Updates on GitHubWhat it needs
A Mac on macOS 13 or later
macOS 13 Ventura or anything newer, with an Apple silicon or an Intel chip. There is no App Store, Windows or Linux version: the App Store’s sandbox would not let lohost see other apps’ processes.
No permission to start
Seeing what listens, whose it is and which branch it is on needs no prompt and no admin password. macOS asks once per terminal app the first time you use Show tab, and for notifications only if you turn them on. Every permission, in Help
One request, to one place
The app checks dl.lohost.dev for updates, and that is the only request it makes. What it reads about your processes never leaves your Mac. The privacy page
